  • It's fun no matter when you go

    A free zoo on top of a hill. If you have time, you can enjoy the zookeeper's explanations and feeding time. There is a nursing room, so it is safe for families with children, but if you have a stroller, there are stairs and you cannot go around the whole zoo, so you have to go back the way you came. There is an area under renovation, and there is no petting corner, but I am looking forward to seeing it after the renovation.

    For my two elementary school-aged children who love animals, Nogeyama Zoo is a place of healing. As a parent, I am also happy to see them happy to see the various animals in the zoo. The giraffe lunch sold at the cafe in the zoo is a big hit with the children.

    I was invited by a friend who lives in Yokohama to visit the zoo. I had heard it was free, so to be honest I didn't have high expectations, but there were so many different animals that I almost felt bad that it was free. I remember feeling a strange sensation of being able to see giraffes, lions, bears, and zebras in the middle of a city like that! I was especially impressed by how cute the red pandas were running around energetically!
