    The "Monte Cristo Sandwich" served for breakfast at the restaurant "Le Normandie" on the 5th floor of the Tower Building is very delicious. It is a sandwich of French toast topped with crispy bacon and melted cheese. It is an unexpected combination, but the sweetness of the French toast and the saltiness of the bacon go well together, making it addictive. I was taught how to make it by the hotel staff, so I tried making it at home.

  • King's Chair ~Angel's Chair~

    The lobby on the second floor of the main building of Hotel New Grand has the appearance you would expect from a classic hotel that has been certified as a Yokohama City historical building and a modern industrial heritage site.
    Among the King's Chairs placed there is an Angel's Chair.
    It is said that if you gently stroke the face of the angel who has been watching over the port town and its people since the shop first opened, you may be blessed with good fortune.
    I learned about this the other day and once again felt the historical atmosphere of the port city of Yokohama.
    Additionally, some of the windows overlooking Yamashita Park from the lobby have remained intact since the hotel first opened, and if you look closely you can see that the view from them appears slightly distorted.
    I wanted this classic hotel, one of only a few left in the country, to be passed down and become a place that will be talked about as a memory for generations to come.

  • Comfortable, great!!!!

    It was great because it was within walking distance to tourist spots such as Chinatown and the Red Brick Warehouse and we didn't get tired. I received a voucher from my mother and went there with a friend when I was a university student. They didn't treat me like a child, and they were very kind and explained everything to me carefully. Of course, the hotel was comfortable and it was a great memory of the trip. Now that I'm a working adult, I'll try my best to invite my parents here with my own money.

    The view from the bay front room was amazing, and we both said in unison that we wanted to stay another night.
    I was disappointed that I couldn't stay in the main building, but it turned out to be a lie.
    Unfortunately, there was a wedding going on in the main building, so we could only see the grand staircase.
    I will stay again.

    I entered the store because the atmosphere of the building was so nice that I was drawn to it. I ate the most delicious frappe I've ever had in my life. It's a shame that it's only available during the summer. The strawberry flavor is full of strawberries, and the matcha flavor is richly soaked with richly flavored matcha, so you can taste it no matter where you eat it. I definitely want to come back to eat next year.

    Speaking of New Grand, I enjoyed an after-meal cafe time while looking out at the ``courtyard.''Dolce is a satisfying size.
    I chose tiramisu, which means "lift me up."Women especially feel this way sometimes.
    The decoration is especially beautiful during the rose season, from fall to winter, so it is recommended.
    I hope it will be passed down as a symbol of the port town so that its 160-year history is not lost.

  • We stayed here to celebrate my husband's birthday.

    I stayed at the Tokyo Station Hotel on the day I submitted my marriage registration, and because I had obtained a Classic Hotel Passport there, I stayed at Hotel New Grand, a classic hotel in Yokohama, to celebrate my husband's birthday.
    There are many wonderful paintings in the hall, and I think that those who like painting will never get tired of seeing them.
    Dinner was Italian, but everything was delicious and very satisfying.After the meal, I was able to take a nice picture in a place where the illumination in the courtyard was beautiful.
    I highly recommend this hotel.
    Next time I want to go to have afternoon tea.
