Review of Hakone Ashinoko Narukawa Art Museum

20 reviews

  • You can encounter picturesque scenery

If you are visiting Hakone for the first time and want to casually appreciate Japanese paintings, this is the place to go! The admission fee is 1,500 yen for adults, which is not as expensive as the Okada Museum of Art.

The exhibits are changed several times a year, and if you're lucky you might come across works by masters such as Hirayama Ikuo and Kayama Matazo.

And best of all, the view from the large windows on the first floor facing Lake Ashi is outstanding! The Hakone Port, home of the Hakone Pirate Ships, is nearby, so you can take photos of the colorful pirate ships coming and going.

Mount Fuji depends on the weather.

  • With dog

This was my first time at the Narukawa Art Museum. I wasn't particularly interested, but as I looked at the paintings I was drawn to them and became a fan of Shohei Takasaki. The sunflower paintings were particularly beautiful. Lake Ashi and the Torii Gate of Peace could be seen from the large windows. Unfortunately it was raining, but I would like to go see them on a sunny day.

  • The best view and a garden with fresh greenery

You can see a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi from the museum's garden, but it's not crowded, so it's a hidden gem. The cakes at the cafe attached to the museum were also delicious!
Since it is not often that one has a chance to see Japanese paintings, I was able to leisurely stroll through the valuable exhibits.

  • It's ok even if the weather is bad

I came here because I received a discount coupon for staying at a mountain hotel. I was looking forward to the view, but I was also impressed by the wonderful exhibition of sliding door paintings, so I'm glad I came. Of course, it would have been perfect if I could have seen Mt. Fuji clearly, but I was satisfied.

  • I'm glad I went!

I went to Narukawa Art Museum for the first time.
I arrived at the bus stop around 16:10.
Closing time is 17:00, last order is 16:15.
The entrance is at the top of a steep slope, and snow remains at your feet.
I was worried about my mother, who is in her 70s, but the escalator helped me safely to the entrance.
Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the cafe in time, but the panoramic view from the observatory lounge was wonderful!
Even my mother, who usually doesn't show any interest in the observatory, got excited.

At the Narukawa Art Museum, not only can you easily see Japanese paintings by contemporary artists and jade sculptures that look like transcendental techniques, but you can also buy works by contemporary artists.
I was very surprised because I could buy it at a relatively reasonable price!
I would love to visit again with my mother!

  • Japanese painting is beautiful.

Corona has subsided a little, so I went to the Narukawa Art Museum for the first time in a while during the holidays the other day.I went to see it a couple of times a year, but recently I haven't been able to.After all, Japanese painting is beautiful. The paintings were on display and sold, so it was a little expensive, but I bought one. After all, the real thing is good.Mt. Fuji seen from the cafe lounge was still wonderful. There are many works by famous painters, and I don't think there will be any loss in the permanent exhibition alone. It was fun after a long time.

  • The scenery is also the best!

I saw many Japanese paintings, but since I visited on a sunny day, the view of Lake Ashi from the lobby with Mt. Fuji in the distance was picturesque.

  • You will be healed by the Japanese painting and the scenery of Lake Ashi

Speaking of museums, there were only Western paintings and modeling, but I felt the charm of the subtle color scheme unique to Japanese paintings.
I was also interested in the exhibition of dyes used in paintings.
There is also a large kaleidoscope that you have never seen before, and you can actually experience it, so I think you can enjoy it with your children.
The view of Lake Ashi from the observatory is like a picture postcard.
It was a wonderful museum that I would like to take time to visit.

  • Refresh your mind and mind

I visited Hakone many times, and each time I passed by, the Narukawa Art Museum.I wasn't interested in contemporary Japanese painting, but when I stopped by once, I was impressed by its freshness. It was also my heart's laundry that I was able to relax at the cafe while looking at Mt. Fuji.It was a pleasant time.

  • great view

The scenery became one picture like a pamphlet and it was very nice.
I visited in the afternoon, but I was able to spend a relaxing time looking around slowly.
Have coffee and cake in the coffee shop, and you can see Lake Ashi from the window.
Unfortunately it was cloudy, but next time I would like to go on a sunny day so that I can see Mt. Fuji.
I also want to see Mt. Fuji with autumn leaves and snow.
I am looking forward to it as it will change depending on the period of the exhibit.

  • Take my mother

It's a city that my parents took care of as an evacuation destination for the earthquake, and it was a place where I could spend a calm time visiting at that time, so I would like to visit it for the first time in a while.

  • The best landscape

I went there for the first time at the recommendation of my parents-in-law.
When I went through the entrance, I jumped into Lake Ashi, which spreads all over the window!
The picture was also wonderful, and I was able to rejuvenate my eyes.
Also, children are crazy about many beautiful kaleidoscopes. .. ..
    It's a good memory.

  • A place to be healed by paintings and scenery

I like to see Japanese paintings and go there several times a year. The view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi from the museum is soothing. In particular, you will never get tired of seeing the snow-covered winter scenery of Mt. Fuji.I would like you to visit us once on a sunny day.

  • After all here

The best view is stunning. No matter how many times you come, it's still here. There are many cherry blossom paintings this time, and I am happy to see the cherry blossoms a little earlier. If you can't wait for the cherry blossoms, why don't you come? The pictures and the scenery are the best.

  • Nice garden

I went on a wedding anniversary trip to Hakone on February 2th.I was impressed with the preservation of paintings and pottery at the Hakone Museum of Photography. What was even better was the Japanese garden in the courtyard. It seems that the scenery changes from season to season, but the daily fatigue was healed.I think winter is over and spring is coming and the fresh green is beautiful.
I also want to stop by when I go to Hakone.

  • Good works and easy-to-read museums

I visited the museum on the XNUMXth, even though I was busy with the great earthquake, and it is bright and easy to see whenever I come, and unlike the museum, which is dimly lit to protect the paintings, my eyes are not tired. This time, I was impressed by Reiji Hiramatsu's work.
