The Hakone Open-Air Museum Collection
The Hakone Open-Air Museum, which opened in 1969 as Japan's first outdoor art museum, has collected over 2,000 pieces of artwork to date. This time, from among these, 94 three-dimensional works, including newly acquired works centered around Bukichi Inoue's "My Sky Hole 6-11 Forest Labyrinth," which can be said to be the symbol of the Hakone Open-Air Museum, and 18 two-dimensional works by artists such as Shikanosuke Oka, Hasui Kawase, and Hiroshi Senju will be exhibited in the main gallery, which remains in the same state as when the museum first opened.
In addition, the art hall will exhibit 18 sculptures by 25 artists, including representative modern and contemporary artists such as Rosso, Brancusi, Giacometti, Hagiwara Morie, and Shimizu Kyubei.
Why not view the finest pieces selected from the vast collection and get a glimpse into 20th century sculpture?
