[Special Exhibition] From "Actress" to "Wife" - 100 Years Since Her Birth: The Life of Hideko Takamine
Hideko Takamine will celebrate her 2024th birthday in 100, and commemorative events are being held all over the country.
Takamine, who had been active as a child actor since the prewar period and went on to appear in works by some of the great masters of Japanese cinema, found happiness as a wife through her marriage to Matsuyama Zenzo and lived a fulfilling life.
This special exhibition will look back at the life of Takamine Hideko, a woman who remained true to herself as both an actress and a wife, through displays, screenings and talk events.
The exhibition traces Takamine's footsteps through over 300 items, including her favorite belongings and photographs that offer a glimpse into the happy days she spent with her husband, Zenzo Matsuyama.
In addition, 15 films starring Hideko Takamine will be screened, including "Twenty-Four Eyes," "Floating Clouds," and "Nameless, Poor, and Beautiful." Many of these will be shown on film, which is now rare.
