[Hakone Geopark]
It is composed of two cities and three towns (Odawara City, Hakone Town, Manazuru Town, Yugawara Town, and Minamiashigara City) in western Kanagawa Prefecture, centered on the Hakone Volcano. Although this area spreads out at the foot of the Hakone volcano, and is only 2 km from the Tokyo metropolitan area, it is rich and colorful in all four seasons, and local culture and industry have flourished since ancient times. In addition, the rivers that deeply carve into the volcanic body create deep mountain valleys, and the Sagami Bay coast facing Hakone Volcano is rich in fish species. On the other hand, the mountainous area is blessed with a rich natural environment, with plants endemic to Hakone as well as flora and fauna that give it the name "Hakone." Furthermore, there are hot springs that have been popular with many people since ancient times, and they enjoy the blessings of the volcano, the so-called geo-blessings.
